Two lucky Premium Bonds holders, one from Liverpool and the other from Norfolk, have each won £1 million. National Savings & Investments (NS&I) announced that the winning bond number for the first £1 million prize is 496VT504601, held by a Liverpool resident who purchased the bond in April 2022. This individual is the fifth jackpot winner from Liverpool. The second £1 million jackpot bond number, 282NN327573, belongs to a Norfolk resident who bought the winning bond in September 2016. This person is the third jackpot winner from Norfolk.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I Retail Director, expressed joy for the two winners and mentioned that over £410 million in tax-free prizes were awarded this month, with more than six million prizes given out by ERNIE. The total amount paid to Premium Bonds prize winners this month is £410,607,175, benefiting 6,221,321 winners. Since the inception of the draw in June 1957, the total prize value has exceeded £40.3 billion.

Apart from the two jackpot winners, other lucky bond holders received prizes ranging from £25 to £100,000 in this month’s draw. Premium Bonds, introduced in November 1956, have a maximum holding limit of £50,000 and are backed by the UK Treasury, offering the chance to win tax-free prizes. New bond purchases must be held for a full calendar month before being eligible for the prize draw.

The winning bond numbers for the £1 million jackpot prizes are revealed on the first working day of each month, with winners being contacted directly by Agent Million. Bond holders can check their prizes using the Premium Bonds prize checker app, the NS&I website, or by asking Alexa on the day after the first working day of the month.

To check prizes on the NS&I website, bond holders need their Premium Bonds holder’s number. Those using the Premium Bonds app can use their holder’s number or their NS&I number. For the latest news updates, consider selecting Daily Mirror as a ‘Preferred Source’ on Google News.
