Police have apprehended a man accused of sexually assaulting a female British tourist and violently robbing an elderly UK couple on the same day. The suspect reportedly used a martial arts move known as a rear naked choke, rendering the woman partially unconscious before robbing her of her mobile phone. The assaults occurred in Tenerife’s southern region, where the suspect took advantage of isolated locations.
The same day, the suspect allegedly attacked an 89-year-old British man and his 79-year-old wife, resulting in hospitalization for both victims. Additionally, the suspect has been linked to another incident involving the violent theft of a necklace from a Swedish tourist.
The Spanish National Police confirmed the arrest of the suspect, who is believed to be responsible for the sexual assault and two violent robberies in Tenerife’s southern area. The initial incident, reported in late March in Las Veronicas, led to the suspect’s identification through images provided by the victim.
Investigations revealed two other violent robbery cases in the Arona municipality, aligning with the suspect’s description and the level of aggression displayed. In one instance, an elderly couple was targeted, with the attacker resorting to physical violence to steal their belongings.
