A grandmother shared how she won £142,857 in the Postcode Lottery, six decades after winning her home. Pamela Hiscocks, 79, and her husband Anthony, 82, initially won their three-bedroom bungalow in a competition held by developers in the 1960s. Their postcode has now brought them a significant windfall, valued at 45 times the house’s original purchase price of £3,175.

Residing in Melksham, Wiltshire, Pamela expressed her astonishment at the unexpected win, stating, “We’ve been fortunate before, but this is truly incredible. It’s big money. I never imagined winning such an amount. It’s exhilarating.” Anthony added, “It feels unreal. I’m astonished and amazed.”

The couple, along with six other neighbors in Melksham, split a £1 million prize after their postcode, SN12 7HB, won the lottery’s Millionaire Street prize. Each ticket was worth £142,857. Reflecting on their previous wins, including the house and football pool victories, Anthony mentioned, “This surpasses everything. It’s rewarding to win such a substantial amount that can make a difference.”

Their plans for the winnings revolve around family, with a focus on sharing the wealth with their son, daughter-in-law, and three grandchildren. Pamela emphasized, “Family comes first. I always ensure my family is taken care of.” Additionally, they aim to enhance their granddaughter’s upcoming wedding celebrations and ensure financial security for their grandchildren.

As they approach significant milestones like Pamela’s 80th birthday in May, their granddaughter’s wedding in August, and their 60th wedding anniversary in October, the couple envisions using the money for memorable family experiences, such as a holiday and a cruise. Daughter-in-law Donna expressed joy for the deserving couple, highlighting their generosity towards others and the enhanced celebrations ahead.

Pam also shared her excitement for her close friend Lesley Rose, who, despite battling incurable cancer, matched her win of £142,857. Lesley, 77, expressed gratitude for the newfound luck after enduring hardships and treatments. She plans to use the money for a new kitchen, a holiday, and special treats for her loved ones, emphasizing the significance of this unexpected fortune.

Lesley’s journey with cancer began unexpectedly after a fall in her garden led to the discovery of her condition. Despite the challenges she faced during treatment, she remains optimistic about her future health and the positive impact of the prize money on her and her family’s lives.
