Environmental activists staged a protest at one of President Donald Trump’s Scottish golf resorts by installing miniature mock wind turbines on the course. The protesters, affiliated with Greenpeace, placed the turbines on the fourth hole green at Trump Turnberry Golf Club in South Ayrshire early Monday morning. To avoid disrupting golfers, they removed the replicas as players approached.
The demonstration was a direct response to Trump’s known opposition to wind turbines and his support for oil and gas energy. Recently, Trump expressed his approval for increased oil and gas extraction in the North Sea on his Truth Social platform, emphasizing the need for drilling over wind energy.
According to Greenpeace, the majority of Scots disagree with Trump’s advocacy for more oil and gas production, preferring renewable energy sources. Lily-Rose Ellis, a Greenpeace climate campaigner, highlighted the benefits of renewable energy in reducing costs, enhancing security, and combating climate change.
Trump Turnberry has not yet responded to the incident.
