Ice skating duo Lewis Gibson and Lilah Fear, likened to the legendary Torvill and Dean, could secure Britain’s first Olympic figure skating medal since 1994.
In a heartfelt statement, Lilah Fear expressed her overwhelming emotions upon being selected as the flagbearer for the opening ceremony alongside bobsleigh pilot Brad Hall. The British curling team is poised to build on their success from 2022, with strong contenders like Mia Brookes, Kirsty Muir, Zoe Atkin, and Charlotte Bankes vying for the nation’s inaugural gold or silver medal on the snow.
The competition, running until Feb 22 and broadcasted by the BBC, will feature close to 3,000 athletes from 90 nations competing for 116 medals at Milan-Cortina. Team GB’s lineup of 53 athletes includes favorites like Matt Weston and Marcus Wyatt in skeleton events, as well as potential medalists like the curling teams and freestyle skiers.
Highlighted athletes to watch include Zoe Atkin in freestyle skiing, Charlotte Bankes in snowboarding, and Mia Brookes in snowboarding events.
