Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran on Truth Social, threatening to target the country’s power plants and bridges if they did not comply with his demands regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The US president set a 10-day ultimatum, which is set to expire on March 26, urging Iran to open the waterway or face severe consequences.
In his message on the platform, Trump declared that Iran would witness unprecedented attacks on its infrastructure on “Power Plant Day” and “Bridge Day.” He emphasized the urgency of Iran’s compliance by using explicit language and invoking religious references.
Prior to this statement, Trump had already indicated the possibility of unleashing “hell” on Iran if they failed to meet his demands regarding the strategic strait. He also claimed that the US had eliminated several Iranian military leaders.
The Strait of Hormuz blockade by Iran, impacting a significant portion of global oil and gas transportation, has led to a surge in fuel prices since hostilities escalated following a military action on Tehran in late February.
Additionally, Trump highlighted a successful rescue operation by US special forces to retrieve a downed pilot in Iran, describing it as one of the most daring missions in US history. The pilot, identified as a highly respected Colonel, sustained serious injuries during the operation.
The 10-day deadline set by Trump is approaching its conclusion, with expectations that Iran’s response will be revealed soon. The situation remains tense as both sides navigate the escalating tensions in the region.
