Samsung is set to unveil its latest portable projector, the Freestyle+, at the upcoming CES tech show in Las Vegas. This compact device builds upon the success of its predecessor, the Freestyle projector, introduced in 2022. The Freestyle+ boasts enhanced AI capabilities, increased brightness, and a wider range of entertainment options.
One of the key advancements of the Freestyle+ is its simplified setup process for users. By utilizing Samsung’s AI OptiScreen technology, the projector can automatically adjust the picture to suit the environment it is placed in. This eliminates the need for manual adjustments and allows users to easily start watching their favorite Netflix shows or Disney+ movies on any suitable wall.
The AI OptiScreen feature offers several intelligent functions to enhance image quality under various conditions. These include 3D Auto Keystone, which corrects image distortion on uneven surfaces, and Real-time Focus, which maintains picture sharpness while the projector is in motion. Additionally, Screen Fit automatically adjusts image size for compatible projector screens, while Wall Calibration analyzes the projection surface to optimize image clarity.
By incorporating these smart features, the Freestyle+ aims to simplify the projector setup process for users. Similar to its predecessor, the Freestyle+, designed for portability, features a built-in speaker and supports Wi-Fi connectivity. It provides access to popular streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, and Prime Video.
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Visual Display Business, emphasized the Freestyle+ as a reflection of Samsung’s commitment to creating adaptable display solutions. He highlighted the device’s portability and intelligent AI integration, which enhance both viewing experiences and content quality.
Although pricing details are yet to be confirmed, Samsung plans to launch the Freestyle+ in stores early in 2026.
