People participating in the People’s Postcode Lottery are expressing disappointment as the ticket prices have been raised once again. The monthly cost has gone up from £12.25 to £12.50, marking the third increase in a row. Previously, the price was raised from £12 to £12.25 just last year after an increase from £10 to £12 in 2023. Unhappy players have voiced their frustrations on TrustPilot, with one individual questioning the ongoing price hikes.

Responding to complaints, People’s Postcode Lottery explained that the rise in price is intended to boost the prize pool, promising more significant winnings for players in upcoming draws. The increased cost will take effect starting with the April 2026 draw and is already reflected on the organization’s website.

The People’s Postcode Lottery operates based on players’ postcodes, offering daily £1,000 prizes for 20 postcodes, a shared £1 million Saturday prize, and monthly prizes of £250,000 or more. It is possible for multiple winners on the same street to win in the lottery. Established in 2005, the People’s Postcode Lottery has raised over £1 billion for numerous charities with millions of participants engaging in the game.

In a recent heartwarming story, a woman named Gail Wood, 54, discovered she had won £144,000 from the People’s Postcode Lottery while recovering from major surgery. The unexpected win, providing her with £12,000 monthly for a year, came as a pleasant surprise to Gail, who had initially feared for her life after the operation. The lottery’s life-changing prize brought joy and relief to Gail during a challenging time.
