Thirteen years have passed since the release of the popular animated film, Frozen, which swiftly became a box office hit and spawned a successful sequel in 2019. The enchanting story of Elsa and Anna has captivated audiences worldwide, with children and parents alike becoming familiar with the iconic song, “Let It Go.”
My seven-year-old daughter has been immersed in the Frozen films on Disney+ for years, drawn to the endearing tales of the two sisters. When presented with the opportunity to visit Disneyland Paris for the unveiling of Disney Adventure World, featuring the World of Frozen, I eagerly accepted the invitation.
The expansion of Disneyland Paris includes the picturesque World of Frozen, showcasing meticulously landscaped gardens surrounding a serene lake, new dining options, and retail outlets. A highlight of the experience is the immersive journey into Arendelle, providing visitors with a chance to feel part of the magical adventure.
Venturing into Arendelle for the first time, both my daughter and I were enchanted by the meticulously recreated town that exudes a distinct Norwegian charm, complete with intricate details that pay homage to the beloved Frozen franchise. The park’s rendition of the North Mountain, featuring Elsa’s ice palace in the distance, adds to the authenticity and charm of the experience.
Our day commenced with a visit to a lakeside cabin where my daughter enjoyed a Scandi-inspired hairstyling session, offering various Frozen-themed options such as braids and updos adorned with Elsa-inspired accessories. Additionally, face painting and flower crowns were available to complete the Arendelle villager look.
Exploring the new Nordic Crowns Tavern, a cozy dining spot in the heart of the park, we sampled Scandinavian delicacies like meatballs and fish that complement the overall ambiance of Arendelle.
The centerpiece attraction, the World of Frozen ride, takes visitors on a captivating journey through key scenes from the film, culminating in a thrilling descent from the North Mountain accompanied by a spectacular display of fireworks and iconic Frozen melodies. The ride left my daughter exhilarated, prompting a repeat experience.
For those seeking more princess encounters, the Regal View Restaurant offers a fine dining experience where guests can enjoy a three-course French meal while being visited by various Disney princesses. Though a splurge at €100 for adults and €50 for children, the enchanting ambiance and personalized interactions make it a memorable occasion.
In addition to the World of Frozen, the new Tangled ride, Raiponce Tangled Spin, provides a delightful experience for younger visitors as they glide serenely through lantern-lit surroundings.
The day culminated in a grand opening ceremony featuring glittering festivities and live performances, officially marking the park’s debut. The evening was capped off with the Disney Cascade of Lights show, a mesmerizing spectacle of drones, fireworks, and pyrotechnics set against the backdrop of the lake.
Overall, our visit to the World of Frozen was a magical experience that exceeded expectations, delivering a blend of immersive storytelling and entertainment that left my daughter in awe throughout the day. For those interested in experiencing this enchanting world firsthand, packages starting from £179 per person per night are available for selected dates, offering unlimited access to Disneyland Park & Disney Adventure World.
