Homes equipped with an LG television are in for an exciting upgrade just in time for the holiday season. The renowned South Korean tech giant, LG, has announced a significant enhancement to its popular LG Channels platform, introducing a host of new features and a plethora of additional free content for viewers, including exclusive shows from Sky.
The recent update, which commenced its rollout this month, allows owners of select LG screens to enjoy content from Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without the need for a subscription. Furthermore, LG has expanded its free content lineup with the recent inclusion of the Sky News channel.
But that’s not all – the update also brings in a variety of new content offerings. Viewers can now access LG1 Christmas for festive entertainment, the FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and the DP World Tour for those who relish golfing action.
In line with all LG Channels services, these new additions are part of FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television), meaning viewers will encounter advertisements during their programs.
Beyond the introduction of new channels, the upgrade offers broader enhancements, including personalized content suggestions and a revamped user interface aimed at facilitating quicker and easier content discovery.
A new feature called “Quick Access” enables viewers to press the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a show to instantly access channel information, the TV guide, favorite channels, and popular content.

With the latest upgrade – from our updated logo to enhanced personalization features – we are enhancing the everyday viewing experience for millions of users worldwide.”
