Donald Trump reportedly faced exclusion from the Situation Room by military advisors during a critical Iran rescue operation. Concerns over his temperament led to his alleged removal from the meeting.

The US President was reportedly barred from the command center during the extraction of a downed American airman in Iran. Senior officials, fearing his temper could jeopardize the mission, decided to keep him out of the loop.

Following the downing of a US jet by Iranian forces, Trump was said to have vented his frustrations for hours in the West Wing, drawing parallels to the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis. Trump voiced concerns that such incidents could impact his political standing, similar to Jimmy Carter’s experience.

The incident unfolded on April 3 when an F-15 jet was shot down over Iran, triggering the high-stakes rescue mission. While one crew member was swiftly rescued, the other spent over 24 hours behind enemy lines before being saved.

Amid reports that two airmen were missing, Trump’s outbursts at aides were detailed by sources linked to The Wall Street Journal. Top officials, including Vice President JD Vance and White House chief-of-staff Susie Wiles, were engaged in Situation Room updates over the next day.

Although excluded from the meeting, Trump received key updates via phone during crucial moments. A senior official explained that the decision to keep him out was influenced by concerns that his impatience could hinder the operation.

While Trump remained sidelined, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized his unwavering leadership during the crisis. The successful extraction of the second airman on April 4 was credited to CIA intelligence that pinpointed the airman’s location.

The rescue operation, described as a challenging task akin to finding a needle in a haystack, relied on CIA capabilities to locate the airman in a remote mountain crevice.
