A tragic incident occurred over the weekend as a six-year-old boy lost his life in a car accident in Ellesmere Port. The incident took place on Anchor Drive when the child was struck by a black Infiniti FX30D around 11:40 am on Sunday, April 19. The boy was rushed to the hospital along with family members, where he was met by police and paramedics near Whitby Sports and Social Club. Despite medical efforts at the Countess of Chester Hospital, the boy succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have informed the boy’s next of kin and are providing them with support through specialized officers. Following the incident, a 48-year-old local man was taken into custody on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drug driving, and driving without a proper license. He has been released on bail pending further investigations.
