Millions of individuals rely on government benefits to manage their finances, whether it be for retirement, disability, or additional income support. Recent data from February 2025 indicated that around 24 million people were receiving various benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), with 13.2 million being of State Pension age and 10 million of working age.

These benefits range from State Pension and Attendance Allowance to Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment. Annually, adjustments to these benefit amounts are made in line with government budget proposals announced in the Budget.

The new benefit rates set by the DWP will be effective from April 6, 2026, to April 5, 2027. Below is a detailed list outlining what beneficiaries can expect to receive, with rates provided on a weekly basis, unless specified otherwise. Some categories may offer additional payments based on individual circumstances, which can be further explored through official sources.

Additionally, various allowances such as Bereavement Benefit, Bereavement Support Payment, Care component, Mobility component, and others are available, catering to different needs and situations. It is important to note that there are additional premiums offered depending on specific circumstances.

Although not directly managed by the DWP, Child Benefit rates administered by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) are also set to increase during the same period. Families relying on these payments can anticipate a rise in their financial support.

For the period spanning April 6, 2026, to April 5, 2027, both the weekly Child Benefit rates and Guardian’s Allowance rates will see adjustments. Stay informed with the latest news by selecting Daily Mirror as a ‘Preferred Source’ on Google News.
