Wile E. Coyote has exhausted all available gadgets in his long and unsuccessful pursuit of the Road Runner. However, what if his failures are not due to his own shortcomings but rather the fault of the Acme Corporation? Could it be that the company responsible for products like the “Instant Tunnel” and the “Do-It-Yourself Tornado Kit” simply produces subpar goods?

This concept forms the basis of the movie “Coyote vs. Acme,” where our protagonist enlists the help of a lawyer to sue the Acme Corporation for the physical pain he has endured from using their products. After facing challenges, the film is finally set to premiere in theaters this Friday, following a complex journey to the big screen.

To honor the essence of the film, we have compiled a list of our favorite anti-capitalist movies from the past four decades.

“RoboCop” (1987) presents a dystopian future where a company named Omni Consumer Products controls the police force, leading to a clash between man and machine. In “They Live” (1988), a regular worker discovers hidden truths about alien infiltration and consumerist manipulation. “Fight Club” (1999) explores anti-capitalist sentiments through underground violence, culminating in a symbolic act of rebellion. “Michael Clayton” (2007) sheds light on corporate cover-ups and the lengths corporations will go to protect their interests. “WALL-E” (2008) portrays a world ravaged by consumerism, contrasting with a heartwarming robot romance. “Sorry to Bother You” (2018) delves into the dark side of corporate greed and exploitation. Lastly, “How to Blow Up a Pipeline” (2022) follows a group of activists challenging the fossil fuel industry through direct action.

Each of these films offers a unique perspective on anti-capitalist themes, inviting viewers to reflect on the consequences of unchecked corporate power.
