Kamala Harris has officially acknowledged that she is contemplating running for President again. This confirmation came during a discussion about her future plans with TV presenter Rev Al Sharpton at a civil rights event.
“I might,” she stated. “I’m considering it. However, I want to emphasize that I have had the experience of serving for four years as a close associate to the Presidency of the United States. I have spent extensive time in my West Wing office just steps away from the Oval Office, as well as numerous hours in the Oval Office and the Situation Room.”
Harris emphasized her understanding of the responsibilities of the position and highlighted her observations from traveling across the country over the past year. She expressed her conviction that the current state of affairs is inadequate and has been failing many individuals for an extended period.
This declaration marks her strongest indication yet that she intends to compete as the Democratic candidate in the upcoming 2028 Presidential election. Despite being considered an underdog by oddsmakers, Harris consistently leads in national polls among Democratic candidates, surpassing her closest competitor, California Governor Gavin Newsom, by over seven points on average.
Last year, in an interview with the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg, Harris hinted at the possibility of a third presidential bid, stating, “I am not done. I have dedicated my entire career to serving others, and it is ingrained in me.”
